Upcycle It - Washing Machine Hydroponic Grower - #4 Preparation III

The upcycle concept is being applied in every stage of the project. This time was a desk lamp that became the centre light mounting.

We cut the cone part so the light will be completely exposed. The flexible gooseneck will be very handy for loading and unloading growing trays inside the drum. It can be easily bent away and returned to position.

We also adapted the pulley to fit the stepper motor shaft and bolted it into a bracket so we can hinge it to adjust the belt tension.

Hey nandohila I love the idea of using lots of upcycled bits in the project. Just a point of safety, don't be tempted to use the relay with the grove kit to turn on and off your light. It might appear…

Thank you for the tip Andy. I should have also the original water pump operating at high voltage so I will have a separated closed control box for those devices having only the control wires off it.

You are making good progress. I also like the reuse aspects. DAB

Just a point of safety, don't be tempted to use the relay with the grove kit to turn on and off your light. It might appear to be rated for mains but there's lots of exposed metal such as the screws and pins on the back.
