Node-Red and Mini

jasonwier92

Before I beat my head too much, any one have luck with Node-Red and the Mini-Board?

Just looking to do GPIO.  I have Python working on the mini-board and I would guess node should work too.

Maybe I will just use Node-red for automation and have the rest be in node.

Okay, I got it working. I will say what the problem was, but only because I do not want others to make this mistake. I put the payload in the topic instead of the payload area to signal an on/off for testing…

Hi Jason, be aware that the logic levels are 1.8V. I have good experience with the Sparkfun level converter ( https://www.sparkfun.com/products/12009 ). See my last blog about this: [Upcycle It] Nixie…

That sparkfun one looked identical to one I've also used successfully for I2C with another board.

No reason the same software as per the Arduino should not work on it. Although the mini does not have the Analogue In, PWM swizzler, Level Shifters or MicroSD.

But for digital I/O at 1.8v it should be fine. Are you testing with a Red LED as they have a lower threshold voltage than other LEDs?

I've never really noticed the Topic box before but yes you are correct in thinking mostly Node-Red flows use the Payload.
