Making the frame

Materials

1.2m by 2.4m OSB wood

I have decided to use OSB wood for this project although it is not nice to cut or screw into it is quite strong and very cheap compared to plywood or solid wood

wooden dowel has been used for the rotation section of the frame this needs to be water proof but instead of using pvc pipe which would have been to flexible for copper pipe which would have been to costly i decided to use wooden dowels that were approx 30cm long they are strong enough to support the weight and also can be sealed to make them water tight

for the planters i am using guttering with a wooden stop at each end this will also be sealed from water the pipe clips will be used to hold the planters onto the dowels but still giving them enough room to rotate freely

the legs? well i just happened to have 4 metal legs on my desk that had come off of a piece of furniture that was being thrown away and the lightbulb came on and decided that they would be great at lifting the frame off the floor this wasn't needed but is a nice look

What's Next

(it hasn't been fully built this was put together to show how it will look)

paint or add reflective material to the inside
