I have seen a lot of video tutorials on DIY surface mount, but this is the best I've seen. So clear. I was happy to learn about that source of solder paste with a needle injector.
I presume your toaster oven must have both top and bottom heating elements (bake and broil). Some only have bottom elements.
The text mentioned frying pan soldering, but this might involve magnetism (magnetic inductance coils) that could destroy some components.
Indeed it does have top and bottom. I know someone that built one recently with just top and it heated unevenly and didn't have good results. The oven was a $15 big lots oven that I bought off of craigslist. There are a few threads on here that talk about the components and code.
He made this oven onEpisode 116 as an upgrade of the one from way back inEpisode 36. I'm not sure why he went with a regular resistor based oven this time. I'd think the infrared oven he used then then would have made it easier to do double-sided SMT boards.
