These light-up Mickey Ears show neopixel animations and sync with other ear hats for the ultimate Disney group attire! The sync is made possible with the Micro:bit’s internal radio to broadcast different animation modes. We designed animations to match the attractions across the park so we could really get into the theme of each ride. The templates and code for this project are available on the element14 community so you can make your own. See you at Disneyland!

Nice build, you can also use the ears during Halloween.

Great idea! I'd love to see them made into a devil horn hat too!

Perhaps a couple of servos to make the horns point toward people like in the cartoons ?

Funny you should say that. I saw a girl with positionable ears at Disney and it captivated me because the movement was so natural. I realized that she had a little hydraulic squeeze bubble in her scarf to control them, the effect was awesome because the ears really perked up and followed the sound! It would be fun to do something like that electronically too!

I'd imagine that hydraulics or pneumatics would be a good choice for wearables as it would be more forgiving with bumps and knocks than with linkages.

I'm amazed with the pumps in blood pressure monitors as you get around 1,000 cuff inflations with a set of 6 AA batteries. Should be enough to inflate some horns a few times I would have thought. You also can get some small pneumatic solenoid valves that could be controlled from a micro:bit taking compressed air from a small can saving on batteries for the LEDs.
