The fastest way to iterate on mechanical prototype parts is probably 3d printing, but some parts need to be finally done in machined metal. Wouldn't it be awesome if you could quickly 3D print a part and metalize it within minutes to show your customer asap how the finished part will look like?     Good episode Clem. FYI, you can use a stirring mechanism to improve the plating time. You get localized deficits of the plating compound, which inhibits new molecules and atoms from reaching the intended…

    Fantastic! I was starting to (unsuccessfully so far) play with electroplating conductive PLA, but this is much better.

    thanks, keep in mind you need to tweak settings and solutions to work with your particular part so a good outcome needs some trial and error.

    I wanted to share that I've learned that if something is resistive to taking a nickel coating, doing a copper coat first then nickel after helps. This is printed with a conductive PLA.
