Win the Xbox One X featured in Episode 315

My favourite mod is the Nintendo Super Scope mod. It was really cool to see it work on modern screens. Tried it myself but couldn't trick it out properly. Anyways thank you all for being such a huge inspiration to me!

I would add a cooler to suspend the overheating engine, a nice string of RGB lights to add a little ambience to the controllers and the base of the console, with anime style rubber casing over them to dim the amount of light and add extra ambience, and would help greatly with haptic feedback.

for me it would have to be related to the Nintendo-Playstation mod/tear down. It's so interesting in how things could have went if things actually went to plan and they partnered together.

He uses very interesting solutions when creating this console. I also follow his YouTube channel, where he collects various gadgets. In a relatively recent video, he was reworking an Xbox controller for one-handed operation(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bkVXhKxR83I&ab_channel=BenHeckHacks ). I also love to experiment with different gaming devices(Hall sensor AS5600 for Game Wheel) and based on this video I also came up with some interesting ideas for redesigning the Xbox joystick. It would also be interesting to try to make a portable console out of the Xbox One X.

Actually the episode 315 is my favorite gaming mod, im a huge fan of x box, unfortunately i dont have one right now, i cant afford one. If i win i well be the happiest person, cause all my friends play warzone and I can't join them cause i dont have one, and with this covid stuff its been a long time since i spoke with them

My favourite gaming "mod" was something I made for my sons as a reward for them sticking at writing their own games using MakeCode Arcade. It wasn't a complicated one - and just involved a Raspberry Pi Zero, some arcade buttons and a piece of wood. It brought a big smile to my face because it brought a smile to theirs.

Getting kids coding with MakeCode Arcade

Recently I've been learning Unity and was playing around with the excellent Lego Microgame tutorial. I used this to create A Lego Christmas game for E14. Surprisingly, my 7-year-old decided he really wanted to create his own Lego game in Unity too. Well, I suppose it's not that surprising as it combines two of his favourite things. What really was surprising is that despite Unity being fairly complex he could - with a bit of help from dad - actually follow along and create his own game. He's proficient with block coding in MakeCode, but Unity is a huge step up.

Getting his game running on a PC isn't difficult but he'd be amazed if he could get it running on the Xbox One S he shares with his brother - just like a professional game. Unfortunately it seems that enabling developer mode to load your own games prevents the Xbox being used to play retail games. I'd love to get his game running, but his brother would not be happy if FIFA had gone! If I won the Xbox One X my mod would be a simple one - enable developer mode and let my son upload his game for him and his friends to play.

Update: Completely unprompted, today my son asked to do more with his Lego Microgame. It's always good to see evidence that it's not just a transient interest! Something went wrong saving last time so he started from scratch again. This time I was busy and left him to it. I was amazed when he finished the tutorial unaided and asked me if it was OK to publish the game online as WebGL. I'm mentioning this more as an indication that the tutorial is good than suggesting that my son is a genius. I was pleased he showed some good internet safety sense though.
