Twin Lead Oscilloscope Probe Adapters (Ditch the Aligator Clips) - Workbench Wednesdays 73

The “Twin Lead Adapter” (CT3679) from Cal Test Electronics gives passive voltage probes sockets for easily connecting header pins. The SMD grabbers make connecting to IC pins and small test points easy. See how they work and why James likes them.

If all you see is a black box, see the links right above your reply.

    I like them.

If I had those I would not have lost an entire RPi 3B when the ground clip popped off and shorted one of the other pins, bricking the board.

The black box is a known site issue. It's related to the cookies. (I've only been able to fix it by accepting all cookies on this site.)

More info on that:  Embedded Videos are just a 'Black Box'

    Hi Michael,

There's a chance you've possibly disabled scripts (e.g. temporarily, or permanently) on the page, or for some reason they are not running if the script didn't download for instance. I disabled a load for all element14 pages on Chrome back in the days that the site was misbehaving a lot, and to this day I've not fully enabled everything. I see a black box for all video content (I have to explicitly go to Edge to view videos). I think I prefer it that way, so I've left it like that. But that black box is a symptom that either some scripts have not run, or some page is blocked (e.g. if ad blockers are running and they have mistakenly blocked embedded Youtube for the site).

The video box is just a black box with no linking, the Buy Kit  button doesn't work if clicked but does is cut and pasted.

    Is this just me ?

Here's a forum post to track probes that are compatible with the adapter:  CT3679 Twin Lead Adapter, Probe Compatibility.

tldw: The adapters (and probe) are great. I highly recommend them if your probes didn't come with something similar. (And they probably didn't...despite almost all probe manufacturers making them.)
