Die LED Ringe werden durch die Kupferleitungen die sie verbinden gehalten, er ist Innenseitig leer!

Durch die WS2812 RGB LED können nahezu unendlich viele Farben und Muster erstellt werden image

Stephen, I did like your Christmas tree so much that I did go and purchase a set of these LED rings. All I have to do now is make them work! I've never used this type of programmable LED before. Maybe…

Stephen, I looked this up. Seems very reasonable. I might have a go at getting one to try out. Dubbie

thanks!   for about 10$ you can get the led rings: https://www.dx.com/p/61-bit-ws2812-5050-rgb-led-full-color-drive-round-development-board-2061268

The Digispark i had at home (i think most of us have some of them lying around image)

Take your time with bending the wire, but it still will be done quickly image

    Stephen,

I don't have a digispark. Should this have come with the LEDs? Can I programme these LED rings with an Arduino Nano? Do the LEDs stay programmed or does the microcontroller always have to be present at power-on?

And here was me thinking it would be simple!

I will have to look up this Neopixel library and see what can be done.

Yes you can use the Arduino Nano, actually, you can use just about every system to let them shine image

But it has to be present at all times, the WS2812 has no memory in it.

I have choosen the Digispark as it is one of the smallest Arduino´s out there, and its cheap...

    Hi Stephan,

I didn't know what the Digispark was until you posted that comment and I looked it up - wow what a great little board, thanks for bringing to my attention.

    Stephen,

I'll have to give it a go with a Nano then. As for the Digispark, cheap is always good.
