Empty RGB XMAS Tree

A really good project. I must get some of these LEDs and try them out myself.

The Digispark i had at home (i think most of us have some of them lying around )  

Take your time with bending the wire, but it still will be done quickly

I did like your Christmas tree so much that I did go and purchase a set of these LED rings. All I have to do now is make them work! I've never used this type of programmable LED before.

Maybe I'll have it ready by next Christmas.,

This LED´s are easy to use, connect just the single led to the digispark and load the code into it.

That will make a crazy blinking, but it shows how it works and you can build up on that

If you like the simplicity of the Arduino IDE and abundance of online code examples; they should run quite nicely from any Arduino using the Neopixel library (or something similar).

I don't have a digispark. Should this have come with the LEDs? Can I programme these LED rings with an Arduino Nano? Do the LEDs stay programmed or does the microcontroller always have to be present at power-on?

And here was me thinking it would be simple!

Yes you can use the Arduino Nano, actually, you can use just about every system to let them shine

But it has to be present at all times, the WS2812 has no memory in it.

I have choosen the Digispark as it is one of the smallest Arduino´s out there, and its cheap...

I'll have to give it a go with a Nano then. As for the Digispark, cheap is always good.
