Ultraviolet-C band (UVC) LEDs are seeing increased usage in water treatment systems and other applications. As the technology continues to develop, engineers and product teams must consider - for a given application, how can you best compare UV-C LEDs against each other as well as other solutions such as mercury lamps?

In less than an hour, discover how an emerging metric - the Cost of Germicidal Energy (CGE) - can support technology selection, system design, and roadmap planning, especially for water treatment applications where UV-C LEDs are becoming increasingly competitive through improvements in efficiency, optical output, reliability, and cost.

If you work in water treatment, LED technologies, or are just curious to get a behind-the-scenes look at the technology and how these systems work, this session is for you!

Tune in for an exploration into:

  • A quick primer on the Cost of Germicidal Energy as a metric
  • UV-C source selection (it requires more than comparing radiant power or efficiency alone!)
  • Comparing UV-C LEDs, LED generations, and mercury lamp technologies using the cost of germicidal energy
  • Present-day UV-C LED performance and the future of UV-C treatment applications
  • Live Q&A
