Thanks for the great Webinar on the BB Blue for Robotics.

Just to follow up with what I had posted regarding the PST Jumper Bundle from Renaissance Robotics, below is a pick of the 6 wire cable plugged into GP1.  From the pic. GP1 from right to left  has a pinout of:

GND, 3.3v, GPIO3_2, GPIO3_1, LED_RED, LED_GREEN.  The JST cable on the other hand is mapped as such with GP1:

GND                - Green

3.3v                 - Blue

GPIO3_2         - White

GPIO3_1         - Yellow

LED_RED       - Black

LED_GREEN  - Red 

NOTE: Red and Black are not connected to GND and 3.3V respectfully.  This was not much of an issue when just running this to a bread board, but when I attempted to add an LCD following the "Add 2.4" LCD" project from the BeagleBoard Blue site I had to pay extra attention to ensure I was connecting the correct wires to the LCD.  The cable from Renaissance Robotics certainly did not match what was shown on the Adafruit site. All of the cables I received were like this.

These are the JST cables that I found. The black wire is a bit disorienting but this one in your photo would drive me crazy.

I am trying to connect a GPS with I2C Compass to the GPS UART and I2C pins on BB Blue. The GPS and Compass unit have a confusing color scheme.

Too bad there is no standardization on JST cable colors. The Renaissance Robotics cables are as close to a standard cable package as any, but they still aren't official BeagleBoard.org products, so documenting the colors on the exact cables still isn't something under our control. If a standard BeagleBoard.org product offering on the cables is what is fundamentally needed, try to make your requests to BeagleBoard.org be as direct and clear as possible. If you can live with the status quo, we probably won't do anything ourselves to try to address it.

I would not have reference the cables had they not been shown in your video or labeled specifically for the BeagleBone Blue and the BeagleBoard.org Robotics Cape.

They certainly should come with a warning stating: "Connect at your own risk".

The cables from Adafruit that are shown in the BeagleBone Blue LCD example are much closer to what I would expect for the BBBlue.
