Eagle libraries

Former Member
Former Member over 11 years ago

I would like to learn more about how to find specific components and in which libraries to find them.  I know you can create your own components and Libraries, but for now I only use common components, which most likely are already created and stored in a library somewhere.

The problem is that it takes time to browse through libraries trying to find where the component is that I am looking for.

I think the pointy-pin designator Dean is looking for could be achieved by checking the "xref" button in the label info field. When you do that it puts the label inside that shape, and you can rotate it…

What if you're not sure of the name, and after trying many different combinations in the search box still can't find what your looking for?  A classic example that I'm currently looking for is the schematic shape for a single GPIO output pin as used in the diagram below:

    <html><head><title>Jive SBS</title></head>
    <body><font face="arial,helvetica,sans-serif">
    <b>Error</b><br><font size="-1">
An general error occurred while processing your request.
    </font></font></body></html>

Sorry, I'm a relative newcomer to eagle so still learning the ropes.
