Why Haven't You Signed Up for an element14 Webinar Lately?

I'm a bit perplexed: with a community of nearly a half million members, I am not seeing many members sign up

450.000 of the 480.000 members haven't logged in in the past 3 months. About 100.000 logge din for the last time in 2016. Same for 2015. See Member Login Stats - 23/03/2017

Thanks for the info but that's not the intent of my poll.

I'm trying to understand why the people who do use element14 aren't signing up. Are we offering the right topics of interest? at the right time?

To answer the question:

In my case, the times rarely fit, either due to day job or family time afterwards. If I find a webinar interesting, I will watch the recording afterwards.

But I haven't watched any in the past years to be honest. As a maker/hobbyist, most topics seem too specific and technical for me personally. Other topics like "intro to edison" and the likes are more up my alley, but I have already learned about those earlier.

Perhaps like your doing for a few road tests, pitch a few ideas to the community or at least the top members to solicit some ideas for Videos / webinars. TM's may be better if only to limit the noise

Your viewing stats for the on demand versions of the video should give some indication of this. e.g. if your live viewing figures are low, but your on demand viewing figures are high, then it suggests that there is still interest in the topic but that people want to choose a time when to watch it rather than being tied to a specific time slot which may or may not be convenient depending on time zones.

There is a significant shift to on-demand viewing these days, with fewer reasons to do things live. Live tends to be reserved for three main areas 1) where user interaction with the presenter is necessary  (including Q&A, polling, etc. 2) where information needs to be given out at the same time to a group of people - big announcement from the company CEO  3) where you need to use the likes of multicast in order to conserve network bandwidth. In most other cases then on-demand is usually preferred and often gives a) a higher quality end product as problems can be resolved before the content is published to the viewer, and b) more control as the viewer can skip over section and rewind, or pause as required (to take that important phone call).

These are exactly the reasons I prefer to watch the recordings.
