Participation Stats on Profile Page

I'm not sure where to put this suggestion....

Is it possible to include participation stats in each user's profile page similar to the way they appear to each user on the site home page?

I think they form a more useful summary of a user's participation than just looking at their points total.

How would that work?

I know there are ways to dig out all participation activities, but the "Welcome Back" summaries are already computed....

I have thoughts of your own self-serve 'year in review' to see what you've made and how it's performed over the year.

dougw In truth, it would not work because the entries on that page are limited. Copying the "Welcome back" script to the profile page would be the fastest and most efficient way to make that data available to anyone that visits your profile page.

The source for Chats, Reviews and Blogs is from our profile's My Content. Chats are only the Forum posts you initiate - so it does not include participation points. Same for the blogs. Interestingly enough, the top part of those "Welcome back" circles are links to the content they reference.

Because of that, they perhaps don't always reflect true levels of participation either. For example, a community member could be contributing a lot to the community by actively responding to people's forum posts, going the extra mile and helping them and others out significantly, yet that activity wouldn't be reflected in the Chats counter as participation. So it perhaps can be more biased to people posting initial questions than those suggesting answers.

Looking at Doug's counters, I was expecting them to be higher considering the amount of participation over the years. I was wondering if the indexing is skipping some of the older content and not appearing in those content lists. Activity in some areas doesn't appear to show up in the activity lists and some content appears to be missed by the search engine.

Perhaps there could be an extra circle for "Activity". In your case it would need extra digits...
