Any project communicating ESP32 through Lora ?

Xdg 7 months ago

Hi, would like to explore the possibility to have two ESP32 or arduino or similar, connected through Lora net, i tried but i couldn't find actually a way. Have seen something about arduino cloud recenlty also, but did not yet try. Well mjust in case anyone tried, would like to be able to send images from one device to another, so cam to SD card, something like that. Thanks so much

Hi! I've done peer-to-peer communication with LoRa using Arduinos, and the Arduino MKR WAN 1300 boards. If you're interested, I've done a few blogs and a video showing how I implemented that. The links are below!

I hope some of this helps!

Assuming you are talking about some camera connected to a microcontroller,

If camera is within a building and microcontroller is used without using internet or router, i would suggest ESP NOW. Even though the payload size is low, it's much faster and has a higher data rate.

If internet is available, use http post through a wifi router to send images, it's the fastest method.

Lora is not suitable for sending images considering you can send a maximum of 256bytes per transmission with low data rate, it'll take a long time to send even a 100kb file let alone some hd images taken from camera.

I have transmitted images over LoRa. My project is documented here:

Save The Bees Wrap Up - Blog 9

As balajivan1995  indicates, it is very slow. Fortunately my application did not need speed. I used a direct LoRa link, not a LoRaWAN.
