It doesn't look legit to me, as a newcomer.

Absolutely a scam. Hang around here and you'll soon spend your paycheck on microcontrollers, FPGAs, soldering tools and test equipment. You'll lust after multiTHz bandwidth scopes, programmable terraamp…

    That's nice to know!

I have posted a couple of minor things in elemen14 and both were flagged as offensive or spam, so I was unable to reply. Then I looked up "element14" on Google. It did not look good. Did you try that?

When I reviewed some hardware CooCox that was marketed by element14 (is it the same element14?), it was obvious it had been [incorrectly] copied from the original Arduino design. And I have seen that there a many Chinese scam websites that just steal your data.

But it's encouraging to get such a powerful response!

    I'll get my coat.

element14 is owned by Avnet which is a giant electronics distributor with many services. They give away a lot of free stuff and sometimes the shipping logistics are slow or problematic, so you may see comments that question what is going on. The comments hang around even after the issues are resolved.

They also have  spam filters on posts to this site which may sometimes trigger on legitimate posts. You can  usually get them to "un-spam" your posts in such situations.

There's the element14 Community, and there's element14 the electronics distributor in the asia-pacific region. We're not the same team.

    https://uk.farnell.com/about-us#our-brands

element14 in the asia-pacific region are part of Farnell in Europe, which is also known as Newark in America.

The element14 Community is a team owned by Farnell, and we work with them and Newark / element14.

All three companies are owned by Avnet.
