PLANO Boxes - I use these fishing/tackle containers for everything. Something I just started is to add a NFC tag on my SD cards to identify software versions for projects. It can hold much more information…

I made a nice holder for small screwdrivers and bits, and I can easily move them from desk to desk.

Recommendation: The Other Pegboard - for those infrequently used items that don't warrant prime real estate but you still need to have around. Credit to robogary for adding pegboard to the list of workbench…

My third tip, invest in a soldering station.

Like many of us, you will start out with a portable pencil iron but as you get invested in your environment the soldering station becomes a prime tool.

A soldering station RoadTest just expanded by opening up to members in America  /products/roadtest/rt/roadtests/696/seeking_a_maker_engineer_to_evaluate_the_weller_micro_soldering_kit_and_filtration_unit

Check out other solder station reviews on this site and you will soon discover the tool can make your bench so much more organized.

I agree but the goal is organize what is required for a bench. Oh forgot to say the longer the bench the better:)

Ideally I would have a soldering/rework station separate from my bench. The environment tends to get messy faster. I just would recommend a solder station that you assemble each time it is needed. That is a pain in the ar$3!

I do that. My soldering stuff is stowed away and gets put on the desk when needed. It's just a few minutes of work.

Yeah not in my workspace. That would require putting this away when finished. Putting it away is tough but then where to put it.
