My prediction for the future is WiFi integration. People enjoy connectivity and I bet on that! Everywhere its an explosion of "smart" devices and this is how things will be IMHO.

My predictions for 2016 echo some of the above comments relating to IoT and wireless payments - ie increasing use of wireless intercommunication between disparate devices. This will also inevitably bring a lot of confusion - imagine a block of flats (apartments), each with multiple devices, all sharing limited spectrum. I hope nothing critical would be expected to work well in this kind of scenario!

My prediction is similar gadget like pi and beagle were come in future to more exploration in different areas. And yes more and more wireless things will come in picture.

i went with integrated wifi... i think mcb1 has the right idea about power distribution, as we have smart meters here in ontario canada, and i think the only thing it does is tell the utility when to raise our rates !!! early on we had reduced rates after 5 pm.. now it is seven p.m. ...so most families will have dinner after 7 instead of the traditional time of 5 pm.. and the laundry will be done after seven too !! so when the hydro company finds peak demand after seven, then they will adjust the rates higher then.. we need to find a way to balance our hydro, and our budget.. integrated wifi can help, and i can't wait to try a few ideas !!

Integrated WiFi for sure. People love connecting without wires. It is definitely more convenient and adds to mobility. I'm am concerned about whether it will be secure enough though.

The increasing trend of online shopping will expedite the maturity of bio-authentification. I voted for bio-hacking.
