My prediction for the future will be Wireless Integration into more every day objects. We are already seeing wireless tyre pressure sensing both in motor racing and in everyday vehicles. This makes sense…

I think that 2016 will reveal some new battery technologies that will greatly improve our energy density in a safer chemistry than is currently available.

You think like an engineer and not a marketing person. Getting in and out of a shop quickly and making purchases efficiently is not the goal of shopkeepers. A significant amount of work is done in planning the layout of stores, to force the customer to wander and possibly make ill advised purchase decisions. I think your idea is brilliant, however, it would never be implemented by the retailers.

It was a tough call between Integrated WiFi and BioHacking, but I think the vision is there for BioHacking whereas Integrated WiFi has so far been adding connectivity to everything, whether it makes sense or not. Once it becomes focused, and we determine true utility for IoT devices, Integrated Wifi will grow quickly.

wifi tech that transmits a menu or layout plan of a premises.  this would be useful for quick shopping trips to malls.  It could be incorporated in the next future tec were video of the surrounding view is transferred to the brain bypassing the eyes, this tech is in development.  this info could be available on either subscription, cookies or by Q.R code scanning.  In the event of a blind person having this tech. it would automatically subscribe the blind person to the published data.  It would need possibly an audio feed, if blind from birth, you could beam as best fonts as possible to your brain, it would still be
    gibberish.

I think in 2016 internet of things will be implemented in many applications, we didn't thought of.

And that makers will always find new devices to connect to the internet.

I'm nowhere near you guys in your understanding and knowledge on these subjects, so find it a little harder to make a well informed guess, but I think bio-hacking and bio-mechanics will start to become more prominent in the near future. Not only for fitness and health monitoring devices but with the advancements being made in the prosthetic's industry.

Interesting what you mention about commodity level. I'd agree too.

I was totally considering the FitBit, but now thinking about the Basis Peak - looks like a normal digital watch, which is appealing,

in contrast to other weird shaped ones which try to look overly unconventional.

    My 2016 technology prediction is:

         1) BLE will be number one and overtake WiFi/WMax.

         2) The fitness craze will become the number one smartwatch usage when pricing becomes so low to be a commodity level. I was ove in China and saw a sale lady wearing one. She said the battery lasted over one month without a charge. Guess what communication was? BLE to a smartphone.
