Microsoft Will Die!

17 Jun 2015

I just checked out the MS Windows 10 Developer preview. It was a disaster. I know it's still not ready, but it still has the horrible "Live Tiles". I didn't like it. (I know that it still isn't finished.)

Windows 95, XP, and 7 were microsoft's HUGE hits. If they can't make another hit like that, I think one of these might happen:

IBM will come out of it's hiding place and continue OS/2.

BeOS Will comeback

We will all go to apple.

We will all go to Linux.

If Microsoft Dies, I going to Linux Mint

I've used windows all my life, and I loved it, (I have about 6 commuters all running different versions of windows, and one computer running 3 version of Linux.)

I really hope MS doesn't die image

I have a strong feeling ms will die. And this is what killed it:

Please let me know your thoughts in the comments.

(If MS dies I will never sleep again! Yes, I'm a Microsoft FanBoy)

The touch tile concept is cool and should be developed to see how useful it can get. But it is irresponsible to force Windows users to cripple their productivity for years while this development is taking…

I had heard good things about Windows 10, but I have not run it yet. I agree, Windows 8.0 and 8.1 were not well developed. Too much betting on the tablet market they forgot about the millions of us who…

Does it support the traditional (as in Win 7 and before) desktop ?

Will it run VB6 tools and exectuables ? (and other ancient stuff).

Is the performance any good ?

MS have always been good on compatibility with older software (unlike Linux where the possibility of recompiling the kernel, driver or application all too often becomes a necessity).

I really don't like those Live Tiles. It was also very slow, and a lot of older applications won't work on it. Stuff like Windows 98 games won't work. (In other vertion of windows you had the compatibility mode). This version has it, but it doesn't work.

@Nick - A preview version is just what it says on the tin !

It's not the final code. I'm not well enough into Microsoft's development process to know how much should be working but you shouldn't judge the final product on the basis of  a preview.

BTW - do you care if Windows 98 games work or not ?

I know it's not the final code, but it's close to releasing and It's not looking that good right now. Also, There is a few programs I got in 98 that I would still like to run.
