I am trying to get a feel for some aspects of the new platform by writing this blog. It probably won't see any views by members since it looks like personal blogs are squirreled away and probably not in the main forum stream. This is partly a test of that. So far I am noticing a lot of old material that is incomplete, missing, not viewable or not easy to find with a search. I expect it will take time to clean it up. I haven't figured out how to edit any old material yet to help with the clean-up. I haven't found a leaderboard for the gamification system, which could decrease its appeal. I have a few projects on the go and I am worried that blogging will be tough if I can't figure out an editing process and I'm also worried that learning the new system will rob time from project work. It still feels like I can't see what is happening on the forum. Like where would you expect to find information on the Holiday Secret Santa program?

  • For many of my blogs I upload videos to YouTube and then embed the video in my blog. This was quicker and more reliable, however those embedded links no longer work so the blogs have black boxes instead of videos. I was going to at least add links to the YouTube videos until I could get the videos properly uploaded, but I cannot edit most of the Project14 blogs. Some don't have any "Edit" button even when I have joined the group and the one's that do go have an edit button go into purgatory when edited (pending review). Some don't even have a way to join the group.

    Please check through the Site FAQ and Feedback and Support for some of these issues, the black box is not that the video's broken, it's due to your cookie settings disabling it.

    I do have a task with the dev's to make this more obvious, but these items we're covering in answering other queries and I can't always track what's said elsewhere in blog comments when I may have the answer for you :) For example you're mentioning two problems here, and they've been raised in feedback and support and I'm addressing them as well due to permissions issues that should be fixed now.
