Arduino is not a frend to ESP8266

Former Member
Former Member over 9 years ago

For four days trying to communicate esp 01, unsuccessfully, I already changed and firmeware. I use Arduino and I never have any problems with sensors to Arduino or ESP is complicated. the only thing I managed to get through communication Arduino IDE serial AT komands

I do not know if I have a problem with Hardwear or softweare

Interests proven example of programming of ESP 01 which firmevarom and how to set up the Arduino IDE.

Connected to the scheme, with a separate power supply 3.3V

Who can help me here thanks in advance.

Or I'll leave and throw it in the trash

Tnx Damir

You have not much information here, so check shinajaran: noob's guide to ESP8266 with Arduino Mega 2560 or Uno . It explains things step by step. Clem

Think Tx is talking and Rx is ear to listen. When I talk(Tx), you listen with ear(Rx). Right? Clem

I got it. Connected to the scheme on the serial port ardu going gets feedback from ESP AT commands. But when I want to program esp occurs fault serial is not in sync. chart below.

    Damir,  Hello.

Here are some observations from my experience.

    1) Do not use the Arduino onboard 3.3v.  Use an external 3.3V supply.  The ESP pulls too much for the Arduino to handle.  This causes erratic behavior.

    2) I have used ESP8266-01 where I have needed to connect TX<>TX, RX<> RX AND some that need TX<>RX, RX<>TX.  Try both.

    3) I have had most success using the schematic from your Feb 5, 2016 6:58 AM post while using external 3.3v source for ESP.

I believe your main problem is the 3.3v source.

    I hope this helps
