Hello Friends,

I am planing to do some best for public places and,  Is there any sensor available to detect human presence . I am aware from PIR Motion sensor but this is not useful as the sensor detect several motions and not working fine due to frequently hanged.

I would like to use this 24 Hrs for 150 Sqft welcome desk (Reception) area, Where if any guest or passenger take the access in particular area, A welcome tone of hotel with hospitality message flash for 40-50 Seconds and when guest moved out from particular range, Same will off immediately. Kindly suggest me a better solution .

Actually if you want a "smart sensor", I would look at Grid-Eye from Panasonic

Panasonics' infrared array sensor is a thermopile-type infrared sensor which detects quantity of infrared ray. These high precision sensors, based on advanced MEMS technology, have temperature detection, achieved on a two dimensional area, digital output, and have a miniature SMD package.

Check out Panasonic Grid-EYE Infra-Red Sensor Evaluation Kit | Farnell element14 It has the ability to detect the difference between human and a dog(animal). image

If PIR is not an option, why don't you try a camera with your customized algorithms to detect multiple persons or give commands( to do such things)?

It would be more accurate and have great potential to do numerous things.

and the best part is you don't even have to interface it to computer to do such things, You can do that with several cheap developments kits available in market (Hint: RASPBERRYPI3-MODB-1GBRASPBERRYPI3-MODB-1GB and the camera(of course) : RPI CAMERA BOARDRPI CAMERA BOARD )

    Good Luck image
