Would you care to share what book this is out of. The background of the scan seems to indicate some form of published drawing (versus your own) I am picking that it is a test, and that it probably requires…

Mark, I bet it is a test. There is plenty of guys that place their homework on sites trying to avoid their duty Enrico

Your schematic shows you're using a PNP for TR1 and TR2 and it should be a NPN., the part numbers are NPN so are these the parts your using. A PNP transistor will flow current from emitter to collector…

this diagram is for a proposed new d.c regulated power supply

Sorry but I'm still sceptical about this.

Who is supplying this new power supply, and why are we doing the checking for you.??

the_future If this is your diagram like you say:

    • why do you assume there is a problem in the first place? If you know there is one, how have you come to that conclusion?
    • why do you assume the diagram can be improved? Again, how did you come to this conclusion?

Yeah it does look like homework, given that there was such wording twice (in the title and the description) to imply it was not from a textbook yet 'Appendices' is visible.

We think it be better if you answer the question so that you can learn.

    Cheers

A complete circuit diagram on the page underneath and not a very inspiring or descriptive name for the PSU on the top ...Definitely call foul
