hi to all, i want to make my own arduino uno board, is it possible to make one at home ?? i have a arduino uno r3 and have made many fun projects with it i wanted to know can i make one at home as is is open sourced it would not be that difficult to do, has any one here done that ?? would like some help ...

The good folks at Oomlout put together this nice Instructable that should make it very easy: How to Breadboard Arduino Compatible. I've seen other Arduino-on-a-breadboard type Instructables there too, but judging by other Oomlout tutorials I've seen, I would check theirs out first. Cheers, -Nico

As AVR Atmega328 have internal selectable clock of 1,2,4,8MHz, its possible to use it with Arduino IDE without crystal... Only thing required is in Arduino IDE should Have board option with internal clock... board definations are available on above link...

I am teaching AVR microcontroller subject in Master of engineering here in India... Not only Atmega328 (28-pin) even AtMega32(40-pin) AVR uC, we are using in lab with Arduino IDE and AVR Studio... and its on breadboard without crystal... and....Even no reset circuit is compulsory....

Yes you can build your own Arduino and its very easy, basically you need to burn the Arduino's boot loader in New Atmega328 chip, and connect it with all the required components and 16MHz crystal oscillator, on bread board or on PCB. Arduino website itself has good tutorial for creating your arduino on breadboard . I would like to share one more tutorial, from which I have build my arduino, which also contains step by step video, Homemade Arduino Board . Further I am using this power supply from ebay to power my Homemade Arduino.

It is actually very simple to make your own, or make enough to run your completed project as the full boards have so much redundant electronics not needed in most finished project. Probably about 6 components for the core, plus whatever your interfacing to.

Hello Saurabh! As all the other user friends says, that answer is yes you can ! There are a couple of things that maybe useful for you in the specific case. I don't know what kind of projects you have in mind (maybe a good idea to share them with us ?); We assume that it is really super-easy to make your arduino board - IMHO the absolutely easier is just the Paperduino project creating an Arduino compatibile board on a piece of paper Then maybe you make things more easier for your specific projects. Instead of making the general purpose Arduino board with the advantage to be able to recycle indefinitely the board you can make for less than the cost of the commercial Arduino your own dedicated Arduino-like boards . 100% compatible with Arduino you can integrate the base circuit of the microcontroller with your dedicated components excluding all those parts that are not useful for you. The result is that you can obtain a Arduino compatible board running on your project, something original just done by you. Here are some examples I have used in past: TiltPan Micro Camera is up and running !!!
