Ultra96-V2 (Zynq MPSoC ZU3EG) 2018.3 no display output

I am not getting any desktop output from the display port. I installed the image found in http://avnet.me/ultra96-v2-oob-8GB and it is booting but nothing comes out to the screen. I am using a display port screen (Samsung SyncMaster SA650) and a miniDP-DP cable.

This is a piece of dmesg with display related messages:

Hi there, Are you able to test with a different monitor? Have you seen these troubleshooting steps from Xilinx? https://forums.xilinx.com/t5/Embedded-Linux/OF-graph-no-port-node-found-in-amba-xilinx-drm…

Hi there, I was thinking, in the mean time, you could also try a different version of the bootable images. That is a quick and easy test as you would only need to replace all the files on the two SDCARD…

    Hi there,

Are you able to test with a different monitor?

Have you seen these troubleshooting steps from Xilinx?

    https://forums.xilinx.com/t5/Embedded-Linux/OF-graph-no-port-node-found-in-amba-xilinx-drm/td-p/813934

Included in that link is a list of compatible monitors.  I can say that it is rare to find an incompatible monitor, but it does happen.

There is also a correction to one of the commands in the very last post.

    Hi Daniel,

thanks for answering. Yes, I read that post and tried their solution, but booting with drm.debug=0xe generates a kernel panic in my board and I don't find the modetest executable neither. Maybe because I am using different version (2018.3)?

I will try to find another monitor to test

    br,

    javi

    Hi there,

I was thinking, in the mean time, you could also try a different version of the bootable images.  That is a quick and easy test as you would only need to replace all the files on the two SDCARD partitions.

You can find the latest on the product page as well as on this consolidated page:

    http://avnet.me/DBA_BSPS_PLATFORMS_2019p2

Which quick and easy, I see this as a uncertain test.  I really think changing the monitor would be a more certain response.  I personally use the On-Lap 1303H monitor.  I purchased from Amazon.

    Hi Daniel,

you were right. I tested a different monitor (Benq GW2765) and it worked!  : )

I can't understand why there are incompatibility issues with the other since they use the same DP standard.. that's very annoying, but at least I have now the display output I needed for a training

    Thanks for your help!
