Open source MicroZed development carrier board

viktornikolov
viktornikolov over 2 years ago

Hi!

In my hobby project I want to use the MicroZed. It's a steep learning curve for me. Therefore as an intermediate "teaching case" I designed a development carrier board and published it as open source on Github: MicroZed-carrier-board.

Another motivation is the fact that the MicroZed I/O Carrier Card is no longer available for purchase.

Sure, professionals are more than capable to design their own (and better) carrier boards. My project is targeted at electronics enthusiasts. That's why I put the effort into creating the repository's Wiki.

Any constructive feedback would be welcome.

I'm not an electronics engineer but an electronics enthusiast who started with his first Arduino UNO LED blink sketch about 5 years ago.  (My background is mathematics, SW engineering and project management.)
The board does what I expect from it but I'm sure it's far from perfect.

Viktor

Yes, the two PMODs have the level-shifters. In my private project I need to interface with an IC running on 5 V so I put two 8-channel 3.3V/5V level-shifters on the board.

One question.  Two of the PMODs are labeled as 5V and the other four are labeled as 3.3V.  Is that just the power or did you also include voltage level-shifters too?
