Problem of invalid Starter Kit MAC address

vedvaru
vedvaru over 5 years ago

Hi

I was trying yesterday to post the data from my Azure sphere to the contest server for the first time.

However my submission was not accepted because of the error - ERROR: Invalid Wi-Fi MAC Address for an Avnet Starter Kit ....

Kindly advise how to solve this issue, my device has mac address beginning with the 00:02 as expected by the batch script- sk_check.bat

I have already added the timeout of 30 seconds to the script after the azsphere restarts so that it's picking up the ip address which is fine.

Actually clem57 , I think it is the third as I posted a comment to Wrong device name mentioned during the daily sensing where Chandan Jha had "dropped in" on the thread to ask: i am getting wrong mac address…

I believe you might have a find.exe that is POSIX compatible in your PATH environment before the MS-DOS/Windows version of find.exe.

Please read the comments that I've posted here: https://www.element14.com/community/docs/DOC-92683/l/sensing-the-world-challenge#start=175  starting on Page 8 in the comment thread addressing Kenneth Meyers who had this problem.

Actually clem57, I think it is the third as I posted a comment to Wrong device name mentioned during the daily sensing where Chandan Jha had "dropped in" on the thread to ask:

i am getting wrong mac address error while the bat file runs but after that right mac address is written in the box automatically. i checked it on the device mac is correct but still i get emails from Microsoft for wrong mac address......please help.

It's perhaps something that the organisers should anticipate in the future - the possibility of POSIX-compatible command name clashes and differences in PATH variable ordering. I suppose we do get a similar issue in Linux from time-to-time where scripts are written expecting to use the GNU versions of certain tools, and break when migrated to embedded devices which use busybox versions of the tools which have less features instead.
