Lite5200B Evaluation Board for the MPC5200B
NXP’s 5200B evaluation board (EVB) provides developers with a cost-effective method to evaluate the power of the 400 MHz MPC5200B. The MPC5200B processor includes support for DDR memory, a second PCI slot and expanded Flash and SDRAM memory. The board makes Ethernet, USB, PCI, ATA, serial interfaces, CAN and GPIO with complete DDR, SDRAM and flash memory support available. The I<²C, I²S, SPI, J1850, AC97 and secondary port facilities, as well as all other resources of the MPC5200B, are accessible via an on-board connector and user-supplied transceivers. Because nearly all of the MPC5200B’s I/O pins are re-programmable, various combinations of I/O may be traded off, depending on the user’s specific needs.
NXP Semiconductor’s Lite5200B evaluation board (EVB) provides developers with a cost-effective method to evaluate the power of the new 466MHz MPC5200B (which is pin- and code-compatible with the MPC5200B). The Lite5200B EVB includes the MPC5200B processor, support for DDR memory, a second PCI slot and expanded Flash and SDRAM memory. The board makes Ethernet, USB, PCI, ATA, serial interfaces, CAN and GPIO with complete DDR, SDRAM and Flash memory support available. Complete with various physical interfaces and available debug tools, the Lite5200B provides a low-cost way to start your development. The Lite5200B is a subset of the Media5200 standard development platform, which includes more extensive audio, video and graphics features.
MPC5200B is well suited for networking, media, industrial control, and automotive applications. It delivers 760 MIPS with a Floating Point Unit (FPU), hardware Memory Management Unit (MMU) for fast task switching, is packed with I/O, and operates at only one watt.
The MPC5200B is based on a 400 MHz MPC603e core with an integrated double precision Floating Point Unit (FPU) that is qualified at -40oC to 85oC. It incorporates a hardware-based memory management unit (MMU) for advanced memory protection schemes, fast task switching and broad RTOS support. The MPC5200B was designed for fast data throughput and processing. The integrated BestComm DMA controller offloads the main MPC603e core from I/O intensive data transfers. An integrated Double Data Rate (DDR) memory controller accelerates data access with an effective memory bus speed of 266 MHz. A high-speed PCI interface backed by the BestComm DMA controller and DDR memory support enables high-speed data transfers in and out of the MPC5200B.
