Evaluation Board for MCP4728 12-Bit, Quad DAC with EEPROM Memory
The MCP4728 Evaluation Board is a tool for quick and easy evaluation of the MCP4728 4-channel 12-bit DAC device. It contains the MCP4728 device and connection pins for the Microchip's popular PICkit™ Serial Analyzer. Simply connect the MCP4728 Evaluation Board to the PICkit™ Serial Analyzer and type in the DAC input data in the PICkit™ Serial Analyzer's PC Graphical User Interface program. The PICkit™ Serial Analyzer will then send the user's data to the DAC device automatically. The new DAC's analog outputs will be available immediately at the DAC output pins. The user will appreciate the simplicity of evaluating the DAC device using this board. The PICkit™ Serial Analyzer is sold separately.
The MCP4728 supports standard mode (100 kHz), fast mode (400 kHz), and high speed mode (3.4 MHz) of the I2C serial communications. This evaluation board has 5kΩ for the I2C pull-up resistors and supports up to the fast mode. If the user needs to evaluate the device with high speed mode (3.4 MHz), please replace the R1 and R2 with lower values (less than 1kΩ).
Note: The MCP4728 Evaluation Board can be used without the PICkit Serial Analyzer as long as the VDD, SCL, and SDA are provided through the J1 connector. This board does not include MCU
Key Applications: Set Point or Offset Adjustment, Sensor Calibration, Closed-Loop Servo Control, Low Power Portable Instrumentation, PC Peripherals, Programmable Voltage and Current Source, Industrial Process Control, Instrumentation, Bias Voltage Adjustment for Power Amplifiers
