The FRDM-STBC-AGM01 is a development board for the FXAS21002C 3-axis gyroscope and the FXOS8700C integrated e-compass. The board enables 9-axis sensing and is supported by NXP's Sensor Toolbox software, InteIligent Sensing Framework lSF 2.0, and the Sensor Fusion Library.

The FXOS8700CQ 6-axis sensor combines industry leading accelerometer and magnetometer sensors in a small package. The 14-bit accelerometer and 16-bit magnetometer are combined with a high-performance ASIC to enable an eCompass solution capable of a typical orientation resolution of 0.1 degrees and sub 5 degree compass heading accuracy for most applications.

The FXAS21002C 3-axis gyroscope is the latest addition in NXP's extensive family of inertial, magnetic, pressure and touch sensors. NXP serves as your one stop shop for building a 9-axis solution comprised of an FXAS21002C gyroscope, an accelerometer and a magnetometer for use in game controllers, electronic compass stabilization and enhanced motion control.

Do I need a external programmer to flash the binaries?

Not necessarily since this board has an OPENSDA interface through which it can be programmed directly with out using external programmer

What is the Magnetometer that is used on the board?

The FRDM-KL27Z comes with "MAG3110" magnetometer in it.

What are the Onboard Sensors available on the board?

The FRDM-KL27Z has an accelerometer (the MMA8451Q), magnetometer (the MAG3110), thermistor, and a capacitive touch slider.

There are two part numbers associated with the Circuit studio software. What is the difference between them?

The item "ALTIUM 11-100-15-1 E CIRCUITSTUDIO COMMERCIAL LICENSE 1YR SUB" is the main Circuit Studio software licence which also includes a yearly maintenence subscription to give access to the software updates and online parts library. The part "ALTIUM   11-004-15-1 E CIRCUITSTUDIO 1 YR RENEWAL/MAINTENANCE" is a renewal for the subscription after it has expired. This item will not do anything on it's own, it needs to be added to the Circuit Studio software installation once the original period has expired.

What does the subscription give you?

Although the Circuit Studio software will work without this subscription as it is a perpetual licence. Adding the maintenance subscription gives the user access to all the software updates for a period of one year and also gives access to the online "Altium Content Vault" which is a library of more than 360K parts and footprints that can be utilised within a design.
