Today’s example is the release of a community component for a parallel to serial UDB component. At the bottom of this post we have included the example project for the component and the custom component datasheet. The key point of this component is that it’s applicable to PSoC 3/4/5LP device families.

The user can download the example project at the bottom of this post. The project uses the following list of Creator Components:
- Parallel to Serial
The components are configured by right clicking on the component in your Top Design schematic view and selecting Configure. Please enable the following selections in the Configuration windows for the listed components above.
The main.c firmware is included in the example project. Please review the commented sections for more details.
The parallel to serial component contains a set of datapaths that allow conversion of any parallel data, given to the component, to be transmitted in a serial data output. The required baud rate can be set using the clock input.
In this example we are outputing some parallel values to the serial port. Feel free to test out this example using and Oscope to verify the serial output content.
There are no connections for this example. This is a custom component released to the community that enables some type of set functionality. Please refer to yesterday’s post for information on how to import or export your custom component.
Test Your Project:
Program the Pioneer kit with your example that utilizes the parallel to serial component and connect the kit to your custom hardware.
