There still about 40 early bird boards left for $15.  It was $22 total with $7 shipping for USA (Chicago).

  • This is impressive capability for the price.  However, I'll wait to see what happens with the software and community, and whether there are issues with the Allwinner A64 SoC.  I did a quick performance comparison with my ODROID-C1 which is a quad Cortex-A5 at 1.5 GHz.  According to Wikipedia Cortex-A53 is 2.3 DMIPs/MHz compared to Cortex-A5's 1.57, so a gain of 46%.  On the other hand, ODROID-C1's 1.5 GHz is faster than Pine's 1.2 GHz so by this metric Pine is only 17% faster than an ODROID-C1, so I don't have a really compelling reason to upgrade, though it might be nice to have 2 GB DRAM instead of 1 GB.  All of my applications are 32-bit.  It's hard enough keeping track of 8 hex digits -- I don't want to deal with 16 image
