I noticed that some lcds require soldering. I would like to avoid this process if possible. I have an Uno and was wondering about perhaps a cable set which can connect the LCD with pins on the Uno. Any suggestions?

Hi Steve,
I would love to help you, I have worked with LCDs allot,
But before that can you tell exactly do you want to make with the LCD ?? And what kind of LCD are you using ??
I have never worked with LCDs before. I find them very interesting after watching some videos on utube. I live in an apt. with smoke detectors and for that reason have avoided soldering. I use bread boards and would like to try a project with my Uno and an LCD module . I was wondering if there was a cable which could connect an LCD and Uno or bread board to avoid soldering and messy wires?

Hi Steve,
I can only suggest you to either find a LCD module which comes with headers or wires soldered on it, so that you can make your project on a bread board, or go to a maker space / Electronics lab / somewhere you can solder... Or you can use small alligator clips to connect the arduino to the LCD, but they have to be really small because generally Pins on LCDs are separated by only 0.1 inch ...
If I recall there is a shield that contains a LCD and pushbuttons.
This is a no solder way of getting an LCD.
