I noticed that some lcds require soldering. I would like to avoid this process if possible. I have an Uno and was wondering about perhaps a cable set which can connect the LCD with pins on the Uno. Any suggestions?

Hi Steve,
I would love to help you, I have worked with LCDs allot,
But before that can you tell exactly do you want to make with the LCD ?? And what kind of LCD are you using ??
I'd suggest an LCD with an I2C board attached.
I've used these on projects and they work great.

(as far as I know element14 don't sell I2C LCD modules)
The advantage is they only use two pins for the data (A4, A5) but you do need pullups on the lines either at the device or board.

Thanks for the info. I'm not sure of the term, "pullups"?
