Suggestion to send sensor data to internet cloud in remote location

Hello, there are some machinery system in color chemical firms  which uses high power motor and to know the health status of these machines I am thinking to use some new IOT friendly device name wireless vibration sensor interface with raspberry pi to connect it with Amazon cloud but the industry is at a remote location and we are not able to use the internet here, so looking for best way to send the data of sensor to cloud without any issue.  Any suggestion makes this process happen will be very helpful.

    I've used SigFox for such scenarios. Including the Amazon Cloud integration. Check if it has coverage for your area: https://www.sigfox.com/en/coverage

    Hi Garry,

     

    If you're using that sensor/transmitter then it needs a receiver too, plugged into something that can upload to the cloud, and that same manufacturer offers a USB device for that according to that web page. So I don't understand your question - isn't it clear that you need the receiver, plugged into a device that has network connectivity at the location where the receiver is located, if you wish to transfer data to a cloud? If you don't have any connectivity options, how do you plan to send the data to the cloud?

    shabaz Thanks for the reply, actually I have the transmitter as well as the receiver but interfacing it with Raspberry Pi model 3B I am searching out for some sample codes to make it connected and send the readings of the sensor to  cloud using inbuilt wifi, any suggestion for that will be good.

     

    And Jan Cumps is it possible to connect these kinds of the sensor directly with Sigfox seems great idea but need to more about it.

    With the WiFi, you can connect to a local WiFi point. That point then needs to have access to the internet. Connecting a Raspberry Pi directly to the internet is not possible.

     

    For sigfox, chech the link that I provided above. If the remote area you’re going to place the device is covered by sigfox, you can use that. Else there’s no point to choose that solution.

    G'Day,

    I don't have a clear picture of your project from your problem description. From the details there may be some similarities to a current project I am working on using a Pi to collect and distribute data. I used the Element14 discussion board to gather some input for the project.

     

    I have a Pi gathering data using two temperature sensors. I have establish the Pi as a wifi access point (AP) so a laptop can connect to the AP and collect the data from the Pi. You can follow the discussion at the following link.

    Another alternative for long range wireless is LoRa.
