    Please post more details:

How are you accessing your BBB? Attached keyboard and monitor?

How is your network set up? DHCP Server in place?

    For USB: Drivers installed?

To enable connection of the Beaglebone to the desired network.

    # As root enter the following commands

    connmanctl

    tether wifi off

    enable wifi

    scan wifi

services  #(this will call a list of available networks)

    agent on

    # For Dynamic IP Address DHCP

    connect wifi_xxxxxxx_xxxxxx_managed_psk

( enter desired network's managed PSK.)

    # For Static IP

connmanctl config wifi_xxxxxx_xxxxxx_managed_psk --ipv4 manual 192.168.1.7 255.255.255.0 192.168.1.1 --nameservers 8.8.8.8  (change 192.168.1.7 to desired IP and change 192.168.1.1 to network gateway)

    quit

Hope this will work for you.

I think Gunjan is not getting the wired  Ethernet or the USB IP to work on the Beaglebone Black so I believe it is not a Wi-Fi issue.

@Gunjan - try running 'dmesg' on the Beagelbone to see if there are any messages that are related to the Ethernet port being down or the driver having issues.

Also, as we mentioned previously, check 'ifconfig -a' to see if the Ethernet port is up or not.

Have you tried rebooting the BBB or restart the network interface?

You should be able to restart the network interface with:

    # sudo /etc/init.d/network restart

Derek Molloy has pretty good instructions on how to set up the Ethernet ports on the Beaglebone Black so you might want to have a look at the following links.

    http://derekmolloy.ie/set-ip-address-to-be-static-on-the-beaglebone-black/

Unfortunately the information that I have provided is the limit of my knowledge with this TI Wi-Fi Module on the BBB Wireless.

It has only been a few months since beginning to work with the Beaglebone. Primarily experienced with Raspberry Pi. The Beaglebone Black Wireless has won me over with its abilities and design.

If the cape that you speak of uses the same Ti WiFi Chip, you might be able to find a solution in the documentation.
