BeagleBone AI SD card boot

duyliontran
duyliontran over 5 years ago

Hello everyone,

I just started my BeagleBone AI and I discovered that I boots from the eMMC by default which already has a pre-flashed version of Debian. I want make it boot from my SD card, I followed this guide: https://dulirupanetti.com/?p=8337  but it still boot from the eMMC. Do you know anyway to change the boot to SD card?

Thanks and best regards,

           Duy

Hello every one, I changed to the SD Card to the new class 10 SD Card and it worked. There are 2 reasons: 1. I plugged the board in the USB 2.0 port. 2. My SD Card got bad sector. Thanks for your support…

There is no concept of a bad sector with a flash SD card. Depending on the brand and quality of the SD card, it may or may not have good wear leaving on it. A SD drive may have S.M.A.R.T. features, but…

Could you share the output of running the following command:

    sudo /opt/scripts/tools/version.sh

How did you write the image on to the uSD card?

Also, you may want to look at post on the BeagleBoard Google blogs since this has been brought up numerous times in the past.

I extracted the file and use Win32 to write it. I used the img for AM57xx also.

I'm not sure what "use Win32" means in this context.  Did you just copy the .img to the SD card on a Windows system? If so, that is not how it works.  You need to burn the image to the SD card as a bootable image.  The easiest way is to the Etcher if you are not familiar with the process.

Also, it would help if you provided the output of the following:

    sudo /opt/scripts/tools/version.sh
