BB Blue JST polarity

I cannot find details on the three pin JST battery connectors layout apart from it's positive, sensing and earth. My question is which pin is the positive, is it the one nearest the edge of the board or is this the earth pin? 

I've got a 2P lipo battery but when I plug it into the board all the LEDs flash on and off together. I'm pretty certain that's not meant to happen but can't find any information on what it indicates. 

Any help greatly appreciated.

    If this is BeagleBoard Blue - the onboard JST is three-pins and is intended for 2S Li-Pos, not 2P . At a guess, that would be B+, mid, GND being expected, rather than a thermistor as in the single-cell…

    I wouldn't pay any mind to any offset in the schematic - that may be purely stylistic and depends on the symbol designer to some extent. https://git.beagleboard.org/beagleboard/beaglebone-blue/-/blob…

    Easiest way is to measure. If you need check battery pinout use DC voltmeter mode on multimeter. If you need to check what pin on board corespond to groud use continuity mode, find some known gound on poin header, test point, or for example connector casings are usualy connected ground. One probe place here and the second probe place on battery connector pin. One pin will beep and this one is ground.
