1280x720 on RIOTboard!!!

Former Member

So the Android package gives humongous black bars on my Sony Bravia LCD.  I try to flash to ubuntu...  Turns outIt gives 1280x720 and nothing else.  (And it has no black bars.)  That's because I have a scorching case of the 1280x720 blues, again!  My Raspberry Pi NEVER gave me this problem.  Ever.

The resolution is set in the boot variables of u-boot.

Heres a thread with that: Screen Resolution with preinstalled Android

I've also seen anecdotal tales that leaving the video= piece out altogether, or removing the resolution might allow it to use EDID, however it seems rather variable as there are some boards using i.MX6 where EDID doesn't work properly or hasn't been connected... So forcing the resolution on the commandline has become the norm.

letting the system use EDID seems to be much more workable with 3.15 kernel, but that doesn't help for android...
