LCD8000-97C on RIoT ?

Question

bluescreen do you know if the LCD8000-97C LCD8000-97C that's supposed to work with sabre-lite / MarS will work with the RIoT board as well ? Only a guess, but the RIoT appears to be somewhat based on the MarS and have the same LVDS connector, so it could be possible ?

selsinork, Yes, the LCD8000-97C should work with the RIoT board. However, the default boot mode does not use the LVDS interface. In order to enable the LVDS interface used with the LCD8000-97C you will need to use the modify the uboot boot args. Additionally the cable is slightly different that used on the MarS board. There is a nice clean mini HMDI connector on both ends. The boot args should be set as follows: U-Boot >> setenv bootargs console=ttymxc1,115200 init=/init nosmp video=mxcfb0:dev=ldb,bpp=32 video=mxcfb1:off vmalloc=400M androidboot.console=ttymxc1 androidboot.hardware=freescale U-Boot >> saveenv To access U-Boot you will need console access to the board at boot. On a prototype version of the board I was able to use the debug serial port with an RS232 adapter. I've have done this yet on the official release version. The debug connector (J18, next to the OTG USB port) is a slightly different pinout. I will try to dig into the details a bit more and provide instructions for accessing the u-boot prompt. -Clark
