I would like to connect a CMOS camera module to the Riotboards MIPI camera interface.
Which cameras are avilable for the Riotboard? Can someone advice me a specific camera?

The "e-CAM50IMX6" camera has Mipi/CSI-2 interface which is supported by riotboard hardware (J8).
Have a look at "DM-CAM130" and "CAM8100-UCAM8100-U" from element14/Embest.
The drivers supporting riotboard will be available in few weeks.
Are you looking at any specific application to use this camera with?
Hey i´m new on all this board development and i was looking for a camera module so i take a look to the one you suggested, the e-CAM50IMX6, and just happens that i´m confused about the MIPI CSI-2 interface. The e-CAM50IMX6 supposedly is configured to provide MIPI-CSI-2 interface only, it has a 24 pin FFC connector that goes to another interface card for the sabre lite board which has dual row 30 pin connector .
So like you say if it has MIPI CSI-2 interface it should fit on riots mipi cam interface. But
my confusion is that roit´s mipi csi-2 interface has single row 20 pin connector. As far as i know the CSI-2 is a protocol but the connectors just don´t match.
Do you know how can i plugged in to the riot board?
Is that DM-CAM130 the same as STM32F4DIS-CAM - STMICROELECTRONICS - MODULE, STM32F4, 1.3MP CAMERA | Farnell UK
Any thoughts on higher resolution cameras? Something comparable to the RPi camera would be nice...
Yes, the DM-CAM130 is based on "STM32F4".
The hardware has 1280*1024 resolution.
Currently only the above cams are going to be supported.
High res cam may will come down the line sometime in future.
Hello,
I have ordered the CAM8100-U module, and I can confirm that the module is automatically detected and supported by the RIoT board. However, the images/pictures from this module are having a lot of artifacts and are of bad quality (see attached).
Anyone else using that camera mdule with the RIoT board?
I have taken pics in daylight as well as evening, never saw anything like this .
some improper post processing is causing this.

android has some good post processing stuff.
let me know if you are using any specific apks with camera or specific scenarios which causes this, so that i can emulate the same here.
I have used the default RIoT board Android Image/apks, and have not made any modifications.

I was first thinking that the connector might cause problems. Checked everything carefully, and this did not improve anything.

doesn't seem like a connector problem.
shared this issue with android team. will update once fixed.
