Discover Wi-Fi Download Package

Former Member
Former Member over 11 years ago

Buongiorno,

<<

Hi,

I recently bought the kit Discover Wi-Fi, but it's lacking an installation package from the SW made available when the second reported by Murata.

The file in question is "SNIC-8200-03-37191.exe" (or similar), which according to Murata must be included in the files made available at time of download.

it' possible to have the above-mentioned executable to be able to use both SPI and modality especially the "EZ Web Wizzard software", contained in the installation package?

Grazie

Cordiali saluti.

Giuseppe.

    Hello igb,

Welcome to the element14 Community, we hope you are enjoying it so far. I will move this to the STM32F4DISCOVERY Expansion Boards area as it is a better fit for your question.

    Thank you,

    Jamie

I have just received this module as well. And whatever I do I can't find the required software anywhere. It's not included in the download and I can't find it anywhere on the internet. And I would really like to get this as soon as possible.

Have you tried this link?  There's a section for the DISCOVER WIFI with a button labeled "Download your software" .. but as I don't have an access code (ugh!) I can't actually download it ..

    HTH,

    Bruce

I did. It's not there. It includes st-link utility, SNIC bin file that you can flash onto the wifi module, an example server/client for the PC (for those examples shown in the user manual). And that is it. No EZ Web Wizzard anywhere.

    Hi.

I contacted Murata, which will provide for element14, to make available all the necessary files for development on the module SN8200.
The "EZ Web Wizzard Software" is contained in the file named, SNIC-8200-03-37191.exe and should be available in the downloadable files.
The program is available from the website www.murata-ws.com, but it is necessary to register at.

    Ciao

    Giuseppe

I was in contact with Murata as well 4 days ago. This is the reply I got concerning the Web Wizzard parts from one of their marketing managers, but it doesn't seem like Element14 has updated its bundle yet.

Thanks for your interest in Murata product.

You can follow the instruction in your kit and download the software package form Farnell/Element 14. The package from their site should include the complete Murata package plus the host code dedicated for STM32F4.

However I do noticed that Farnell site was experiencing some issue, the Murata package was missing. They promised to fixed it in days. Please give it a try tomorrow.

    Hi,

I just downloaded the software pack again here from Element14 and both the Web Wizard parts seems to be included now and also the patches for the WICED SDK which is really great. Now I'm just awaiting the WICED 3.0 SDK and I hope that Murata and Element14 will supply patches for that one as well later one.

Thanks Element14 for updating the package.

@Andreas where did you find the update? I've been constantly mailing murata/broadcom and etc for these files (also the Programming Manual for the STM32F4 used together with the DIS WIFI) but they still haven't answered me correctly. They said that the Discovery-wifi v3.rar was on the element14 download page(same as the v2) but then when I downloaded it again I didn't get the update. still the old Discovery-wifi v2.rar.

can anyone help me with this? Also, I found the code in the v2 to be lacking since I've tried to POST/GET req from internet websites(various websites, including www.murata-ws.com which was btw what the example documentation showed) but it DOES NOT work at all.

I also tried to listen to the POST/GET request by using socket listener in my pc webserver but the board seems not to post anything.

Finally, I noticed that right of the box and after extracting the Discovery-wifi V2.rar and building it it had warnings. But that's okay since it's not errors. So I kinda tried to fix it only to arrived at one last warning that seems to be an error caused when coding it originally.

This piece of code generates a warning:

                int8u listen_sock = buf[2];

I suspect that maybe, just maybe, the Discovery-wifi v2 codes are lacking or wrong.

Please do help me cause I've been dealing with this for quite few months now.
