LCD35RT Example Program with stm32f407 with base board with LCD connected

Hello

(I am just beginning so don't know a lot!)

I have just got into programming this chip and require some help I have tried for hours trying to get examples to work and fail.

I have downloaded the example LCD_35T which I can get working with the text and the three bars. but you cannot edit this program as it is a read only and I cant seem to change it.

I am hoping someone could send me a example of a program that would work so I can add to it. I am just doing the blinky projects turning leds on and configuring inputs and outputs and analoge inputs.

I just want to be able to printf to the LCD to help me fault find and maybe show the status of my inputs.

If anyone could help I would be grateful thanks!!

    Is there a debugging terminal built into your board (there is in many ST designs). If not then think about buying an STLLInk debugging interface.

    Arm Cortex chips have  a nice debugging interface built in and you should only consider printf debugging as an absolute last resort.

     

    I don't understand why you can't edit the LCD_35T code - it seems to be open source and readily available.

     

    Which tool chain are you using ?

     

    (I would recommend the free version of the Keil tools for beginners - it works, it properly supports debugging tools and knoes about a LOT of different chips.)
