Embest presents the new MBC-SAMA5 CPU core board based on the SAMA5D3 eMPUs. Operating at 536MHz, the module supports Linux distributions including Angstrom and AndroidTm, while also featuring 512MB DDR2 SDRAM, 256MB NAND Flash, 16MB NOR Flash, 4MB DataFlashRegistered and one-wire EEPROM. The CPU core processor module help you to fatern you product development, reduce the design space and reduce product to market time.

Atmel SAMA5D3 MCU - The Atmel SAMA5D3 is a high-performance, power-efficient embedded MPU based on the ARMRegistered CortexTm-A5 processor, achieving 536 MHz with power consumption levels below 0.5 mW in low power mode. The device features a floating point unit for high-precision computing and accelerated data processing, and a high data bandwidth architecture. It integrates advanced user interface and connectivity peripherals and security features.

The SAMA5D3 features an internal multi-layer bus architecture associated with 39 DMA channels to sustain the high bandwidth required by the processor and the high-speed peripherals. The device offers support for DDR2/LPDDR2/LPDDR2 and MLC NAND Flash memory with 24-bit ECC.

ARM Cortex-A5 - The ARM CortexTm-A5 processor is the most energy efficient, lowest cost processor capable of delivering the internet to the widest possible range of devices and applications that require virtual memory management for high-level operating systems within an extremely low power profile. These processors deliver high end features to power and cost sensitive applications, featuring:

  • Multiprocessing capability for scalable, energy efficient performance
  • Optional floating point or NEONTm units for media and signal processing
  • Full application compatibility with the Cortex-A8, Cortex-A9, and Classic ARM processors
  • High performance memory system including caches and memory management unit

Compatibility: The Cortex-A5 processor provides full instruction and feature compatibility with the higher performance Cortex-A8, Cortex-A9, and Cortex-A15 processors - all the way down to the operating system level. The Cortex-A5 processor also maintains backwards application compatibility with Classic ARM processors including the ARM926EJ-S, ARM1176JZ-S, and ARM7TDMIRegistered.

Key Applications: Smartphones, low cost handsets and smart mobile devices, to pervasive embedded, consumer and industrial devices.

    Hello,

Have you though build a similar module with M805 or S805 Quad Core Cortex A5 (Mali-450 GPU)?

and, will do you publish the Technical Documents of this?

    Regards.
