"stamping" repetitive circuit. possible?

Former Member

Hello, I was designing a schematic that had a repetitive pattern (two

transistors and 5 resistors) used in 6 outputs.

I designed once and cut/pasted the others, fine with that but...

I was thinking if is possible to draw a small circuit inside a box, in

my schematic, name it like "power output" and just "stamp" (draw) a

small box where needed but when I opened the board designer all the

parts belonging to these box should appear.

Is it possible?

TIA

    Hi,

Probably you could try out by creating a new library. For, the symbol

you could draw the circuit or just a box which will help you recognize

what part it is. And for the package, draw footprints of the two

transistors and the 5 resistors you intend to use and combine all to

make one package. So, on the schematic when you place the symbol, the

entire footprint would show up on the board.

    Hope this helps.

    Best Regards,

    Jaya

if you mean duplicating, now it's possible, have a look at:

    eagle home page --> download --> ulps --> duplicating_v45.zip

    hope this could help

    Hi Jose,

It sounds to me that your looking for a hiearchal structure. This means

that once you have a building block circuit made then you stick it in a

black box and treat the circuit as a unit.

This type of organization is currently not possible however, it is on

the to do list of the Cadsoft Development Team and we hope that at some

point it will be implemented for task like this one.

    Hope this helps,

    Best Regards,
