Partial circle, straight edges?

Gary gave a good answer.

Just so you understand how easy it can be when you know how, try the

following.

The following will draw your required 60 degree arc from 1 o'clock, counter

clockwise to 11 o'clock on the currently selected layer

In the command line type (copy it there) this series of commands

GRID mm; MARK (30 20); ARC 'mysignal' ccw flat 10 (P 15 60)(P15 240)(P15

120); GRID last; MARK;

Hit enter and observe the arc.

The 5 commands are easier to spot when written this way. You could put them

in one by one into the command line

GRID mm; (Sets the grid to millimeters)

MARK (30 20); (Sets the MARK at  your nominated centre of the arc and allows

you to define the arc relative to this point)

ARC 'mysignal' ccw flat 10 (P 15 60)(P15 240)(P15 120); (See below)

GRID last; (Restore the Gris to what it was before)

MARK; (Remove the MARK)

The ARC command breaks down this way.

'mysignal' (The signal name you give arc(wire) you are drawing.)

ccw (The arc will be drawn counter clockwise )

flat (The ends of the arc will be flat as opposed to rounded)

10 (The width of the arc wire) in the current grid unit (mm )

Then the arc itself is defined. Read the HELP /ARC to understand the three

points.

(P 15 60)(P15 240)(P15 120);

Note Polar notation is used for defining the points. Read about this and

Relative notation as well in the HELP and Manual.

Yes, that gives the needed flat edges but I get an error message "Invalid

point: (P15 120);GRID l..."

So I have to manually use it to draw the right length.

Is there any way of getting these flat edges in any of the menu options?

It's likely I will never encounter this again but I was curious if it could

be done and it turns out it's just as easy if you know how...
