Is it possible?

Good Evening Everyone,

I drew a simple schematic with standard LM317T power supply, a 20-pin encoder chip and a 5 pin Receiver chip. I admit I used the auto route feature (trying to save time) and converted it to a board as usual. I went ahead and made my pcb only to find that the routing was completed incorrectly!

One of the nets went directly from one pin on the encoder to one pin on the Receiver chip. I rechecked by schematic. The board should connect these two pins, but instead it goes to a completely different pin on the Rx. Also, my schematic shows clearly that pin #2 should have no connection made to it at all, but there is a connecting net to pin #2, while pin #3 is left unconnected on the board. I have checked and there are no jumper wires I am over looking. It seems to me that the program V5.11.0 just didn't convert it correctly. Is this possible.

Thanks,

Jeff

Zip the files and post them here. With your explanaination nobody can

    follow what actually happened.

    Joern,

I managed to Zip the sch. file and board file with the WinZip program, but the program is asking me what http address to send it to. I don't know exactly what that address is. Might you tell me?

    Thanks,

The error is likely to be in the library file. This is what Tilmann was

    saying.

Open the library for the troubled part.

Display the Device for that part

Click 'connect' and check the pin to pad connections/associations.

The error is likely to be there.

Don't let winzip post the file. Just create a zip file containing the

eagle files. Then just attach the zip file to your posting.

A BIG thank you to Joern, Tilmann and Warren! The problem was, of course NOT Eagle, it was the Eagle user (me). I did double check and even triple check the pin connections as you all suggested. I ended up and deleted the part completely from the library, re-created the part and it worked. Thank you alll for your help and understanding whilst I learn this great program.
