Eagle and shortcuts?

I have been using 3D modeling and CAD like tools a while and it would be impossible to achieve anything without using keyboard shortcuts.

 

I'm looking for Eagle shortcuts. I can't imagine that every time i want new component, i need to click on tiny icon, every time i want to group and move something, also do the same.. etc...

I was googling but so far i didn't find anything useful.

 

Does anyone know something about that? How is that possible that they simply didn't implement that properly?

    First of all, you can simply enter any command (completely with all

    arguments, partly, or just the command itself) at the command line.

    During normal work, the command line has the focus for every keyboard

    input, so you can always just type.

     

    Second, all commands can be abbreviated to some extent. The list of

    commands is searched in alphabetical order and the first match is taken,

    for example

    i     means "INFO"

    d     means "DISPLAY"

    m     means "MARK"

    mi     means "MIRROR"

    mit     means "MITER"

    mo     means "MOVE"

    etc. pp.

     

    Third, you can ASSIGN function keys and alt/ctl-key combinations to

    specific commands. IIRC, several function keys are predefined after

    installation (however I made my own setup for the commands I need the most).

     

    EAGLE works somewhat different to other CAD software with single-key

    shortcuts, however once you get used to the omnipresent command line

    you'll also see the benefits. I always have one hand at the trackball

    and the other on the keyboard when working with EAGLE. It's extremely

    convenient and fast - but probably you need some training before.

    tutorial, and the built-in help...

    Thank you for the reply.

     

    Help was not so helpfull in this case image however i pund that list of commands which you mentioned there.

    Take the time to have a closer look.

     

    Open HELP, then look at "editor commands", "command entry" (or similar,

    I use the german version).

    For function keys, look at HELP ASSIGN (this is also mentioned in the

    general section about "keyboard and mouse").
